The Solo Practice Model is Broken (But We May Be Able To Fix It)

We provide solo lawyers and lawyers at small law firms with the learning resources, tools and support they need to enhance their legal practice and enrich their lives.

Hey Reader:

Last week, I shared why I stepped back from this community to focus on family (Catch that update here if you missed it.)

But I didn’t tell you why I’m back.

The truth is… solo lawyers are facing unprecedented challenges in building sustainable practices that is aligned with their wellness and priorities.

  • Leaders in the legal profession continue to treat innovation and modernization as luxuries rather than necessities, offering guidance that barely acknowledges the challenges of running a modern practice
  • Without proper guidance, solo lawyers are left to figure out how to compete in a digital age with analog tools. They are expected to be superheroes - simultaneously mastering law, technology, business management, and client relations without any real support system
  • As a result, each day becomes a constant battle against time and resource constraints, making it nearly impossible to focus on what matters most: serving clients and maintaining our wellbeing

I go into more detail in this 10 minute video here:

Next Steps

Over the past year, I've taken the time to reflect on a broken system and explore potential solutions.

Here's what I've discovered:

The solution may not be in traditional legal practice management but in combining proven business systems from other industries with strategic AI tools that actually work.

This discovery has helped me build

  • a practice that supports my lifestyle instead of consuming it
  • systems that make client service easier, not harder
  • workflows that leverage technology to actually saves time instead of creating more work

I'm returning to this community because I think what I've learned could be of incredible benefit to you as well.

Its why I'm talking about this on Youtube and why I'm going to be running monthly workshops to help you put into practice what I've learned.

The first learning experience: a Masterclass on Building Your Modern Solo Lawyers AI Toolkit - a practical guide to building a team of AI digital assistants tailored to your law firm for less than $1/day.

I'll elaborate more on this workshop later this week.
